Direct Fieldbus Connection on the Valve Manifold now also available with IP67 protection
B&R’s XV connection concept offers the possibility of integrating pneumatic valves of most
well-known manufacturers directly into the system. The successful product spectrum is now being expanded to include valve manifold connections with IP67 protection.
Simple pneumatic valve connection
The B&R XV connection concept makes it possible to add valve manifolds from Festo, Norgren, and other manufacturers to an already extensive I/O system with minimal configuration effort. They allow standard devices to be used with Multi-pin connectors instead of valve manifolds with expensive fieldbus connectors. Regardless of the type, valve manifolds are always integrated in the same way.
For the newly developed XV Connector with IP67 protection the complete electronics for 8, 16, or 24 valves are all integrated in a very compact housing with a standard D-sub interface. The connections to the remote backplane and power supply are standard M8 and M12 connectors to allow easy wiring and resistance from the elements. The connection to the valve manifold is also sealed to ensure IP67 protection.
Highly integrated
This compact solution to simply integrate pneumatic control directly in an automation system creates considerable savings for the user. The amount of wiring required is greatly reduced, especially for configurations with a large number of valves. Additionally, smaller pneumatic applications can benefit from cost savings by selecting the optimal number of channels for the valve manifold connection.
Endless Application Possibilities
Open fieldbuses - The use of B&R’s X20/X67 bus controllers gives the user complete control to select the fieldbus of their choice (e.g. CANopen, DeviceNet, Profi Bus, ETHERNET Powerlink). This prevents the user from being locked in to a single technology, so their machines can change and grow in the future. This flexibility allows the XV modules to reach any application.
