Color And Contrast Sensors by SICK
Enhancements to Color and Contrast Sensors – KT10-2, CS8 & KT8L

KT10-2
The KT10-2 is the next generation of the KT10 Contrast Sensor. The KT10-2 maintains the exceptionally high switching frequency of 25 kHz (20 microsecond response time). New features include an easy-to-read bar graph display and 2 light exits. The bar graph display provides visible confirmation of the teach-in and can be used to monitor the sensor\'s status. The sensor\'s two interchangeable light exits enable the KT10-2 to be mounted in more places.

CS8
SICK color sensors are now available in either one-color or four-color versions. The CS81 and CS84 are the successor products to the CS1 and CS3 (only 3 colors) Color Sensors. The ability to teach 4 colors can lead to faster changeovers and shorter downtime. The new CS8 series has much higher switching speeds than the earlier generation - as fast as 6 kHz (85 microseconds). Higher throughput can now be achieved with color sensing.

KT8L
The KT8L is the newest contrast sensor, the successor to the KT5L. Lasers are used in contrast sensors for either long-range detection or detection of very small objects. The KT8L gives you both. Due to a new auto-collimated optics design, the range of the KT8L is enhanced, reaching from 40...800 mm. The KT8L has an extremely small lightspot: 0.3 mm. However, for some applications, a lightspot that small may not be ideal. There is also the option of a larger 3 mm lightspot, opening doors to more applications.
